Thanksgiving Day
Thanksgiving Day is the most truly American of the national Holidays in the United States.

In 1620, the settlers, or Pilgrims, they sailed to America by the ship named May flower, seeking a place where they could have freedom of worship. After a hard two-month journey they landed at the USA in icy November.

During their first winter, over half of the settlers died of starvation or epidemics.
The following spring, Native Americans taught the survivor how to raise corn and harvest local seafood. In the fall of 1621, the Pilgrims harvested their first crops. The Pilgrims decided to celebrate the harvest and give thanks to God.
