unit 5 He is running on the playground
Good afternoon everyone.I’m very happy and excited to Stand here. It’s my great honor to be here to present my lesson, and the chance is very precious for me. And I’ll try my best. Today I’ll talk about unit 5:He is running on the playground.From the title we can see in this unit Present Continuous Passive voice will be our focus.
Well, firstly, I’ll analyse the teaching material. In our textbook, there are a lot of pictures. I think the students will be very interested in the book. As we all know that interest is best teacher for the students. According to the problem of Chinese students learning English , the book design a lot of materials to improve the students’ ability of listening, speaking, reading and writing. So I think our textbook is very good.
Key points:Verb conversion, The use of prepositions,place terms
difficult points:transform a verb in The present progressive verb
Then I’ll analyse the students. It is known to us that the kids are very active and lik e playing games very much, so during my class, I’ll design some interesting games to prompt them to participate and learn something. By this way,they will also be interested in my class.
Let’s move on to another part :teaching objectives .I will analyse it in three aspects:
1)Knowledge objects
a. Enable the students to remember the new words and phrases
b. Get the students to be familiar with this sentence pattern
c. Help students to know more about Present Continuous Passive voice
2)Skill objectives
a. Ask the students to make up a similar dialogue using Present Continuous
Passive Voice.
b. Help them to understand the dialogue better and improve their four skills:
listening , speaking , reading and writing.
c. Cultivate their ability to discover, analyze and solve problems.
3)Affective objectives
a. Arouse their interest in learning English
b. Help them to konw what they are doing.
c. Encourage the students to speak English in our daily life.
Next I’ll talk about teaching methods . My teaching methods are task-based approach and situational approach. Using different methods can make the class more active.
Next is the teaching aids. In this class, I’ll use pictures, PPT and tape recorder. These can arouse the students’ interest in English. it’s necessary for teachers to use modern teaching aids . It’s of great help to increase the class density and improve our teaching results. It can also make the students reach a better understanding of the text by making the classes lively and interesting.
Now I’ll talk about the most important part:teaching procedure. It
Consists of 6 steps, including wamming up
lead-in,presentation,practice,production and homework.
Step1 :warming up
In order to arouse the students’ interests , I will perform different actions. Such as running,dancing,singing,writing,reading,cleaning and so on. Meanwhile I will ask students in chinese what I am doing. Then the students will answer my questions actively.
Step2 : lead-in
I will play a short English vedio. In this vedio, we can see lots of students’ life in school, such as running on the playground,reading in the classroom and playing in the gym. Make sure that students in this vedio talk with each other in English. A:What are you doing ?
B:I am doing ……….
Step3 :presentation
Divide the whole class into several small groups and let the students read the textbook then perform it out. Other groups should guess what they are doing. In order to achieve better results, I will give them some little hints while they are performing. I always think that a good teacher should guide the students to accquire the knowledge.
Step4:practice students practice the dialouge in a line
Example A:what are you doing?
B:I am watching TV. What about you?
A:I am reading a book.
Matching work:students match the words with the pictures
Listening practice:listen to the radio and write down what they are doing. Step5:production
In order to check if the students have mastered what we have learned today, I will invite one student to perform in front of the classroom and another two students to make a dialouge. Meanwhile I will write some questions on the blackboard and then ask some students to fill the blanks. In this way, students can apply the konwledge to daily use.
Step6:homework
After school, I will ask the students to watch their family members carefully, then write a short passage less than 60 words titled with”my family”
Conclusion:
To be a good English teacher is my dream, I think a teacher is not only a guide for the students, but also a friend of them. If I were a teacher, I would build a close relation with my students, helping them not only on their study, but also on their lives.
