1.Do you learn English by reading aloud?

⑴learn 和study

①learn 和study 意为“学”或“学习”时可互换。

②learn 侧重学习的结果,常意为“学到,学会”,强调通过学习去获得知识和技能,它没有凭勤奋努力而获得知识的意味。

study 侧重学习的过程,指深入系统地学习,带有努力,勤奋的意味。其学习对象往往是科学,艺术和需要深入探讨,研究的问题及学科,不是单纯地获得技巧。 ③“向……学习”应该说“learn from sb/sth.”,而不能说“study from sb/sth.” ④在某学校“读书”、“念书”要用study ,而不能用learn 。

⑤learn 还有“知道”、“听说”之意,而study 没有这些意思。

①aloud 作副词,意思是“出声地,大声地”,指使声音能被听到,而不止是在脑子里默默的说,它往往与read ,think等动词连用,作“大声地”解释时,主要与call, shout, cry等连用。aloud 没有比较级形式。

②loud 的意思是“大声地、高声的、响亮的”。既可作形容词修饰名词,也可作副词修饰动词。在动词talk ,speak,shout,laugh等后面,一般用loud ,在非正式的谈话中尤其如此,loud 有比较级louder

③loudly 作副词,意思是“高声地,大声地”经常可与loud 通用。loudly 放在动词前后均可,可指人声、敲门声或其他各种声音,强调声音高、喧叫。含有“喧闹”或“嘈杂”的意味。

(1)take 后面常跟双宾语, 常见用法有以下2种:

①It takes sb. +时间+to do sth. 做某事花了某人多少时间。

例:It took them three years to build this road. 他们用了三年时间修完了这条路。 ②doing sth. takes sb. +时间, 做某事花了某人多少时间。

(2)spend 的主语必须是人, 常用于以下结构:

(3)cost 的用法

(doing) sth. costs (sb.) +时间, 某物(做某事)花了(某人)多少时间。

例:Remembering these new words cost him a lot of time. 他花了大量时间才记住了这些单词。

注意:cost 后不能与具体的时间长度连用,只能与表示抽象概念的时间短语连用。如:some time, much time, ten years of hard work等。
